About

Daniel Ruhl is a physical therapist from Oklahoma with a professional focus on orthopedic rehabilitation, sports recovery, movement, and patient education. His interest in rehabilitation began during his teenage years after a shoulder injury required several months of physical therapy. The experience introduced him to the impact rehabilitation can have not only on pain and movement, but also on confidence and independence.

After graduating from Jenks High School, Daniel attended the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science. He later completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

His clinical training included orthopedic rehabilitation, sports medicine, neurological rehabilitation, acute hospital care, outpatient therapy, post-surgical recovery, and balance and vestibular therapy.

Daniel subsequently returned to the Tulsa area and built his career in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation. He has worked with patients ranging from teenage athletes recovering from sports injuries to retirees rebuilding mobility following joint replacement procedures.

His professional interests include shoulder and knee rehabilitation, ACL reconstruction recovery, rotator cuff rehabilitation, low back and neck pain, balance disorders, functional movement, sports performance, workplace injuries, and chronic pain management.

Daniel believes effective physical therapy begins with understanding the individual rather than simply addressing a diagnosis. A patient’s goals may involve returning to competition, getting back to work, walking comfortably, or having enough mobility to enjoy everyday activities.

Education is therefore an important part of his approach. Daniel emphasizes active rehabilitation, realistic expectations, functional strength, injury prevention, and giving patients the knowledge necessary to participate in their own recovery.

He also serves as a clinical mentor to future physical therapists and remains involved in community wellness initiatives.

Away from his professional responsibilities, Daniel enjoys Oklahoma’s outdoors, fishing, hiking, golf, woodworking, photography, college athletics, and spending time with his family.
